Allen Iverson was honored during a special halftime retirement ceremony Saturday night in Philadelphia. The sold-out crowd cheered as Iverson’s no. 3 jersey was retired and flew to the rafters to be permanently hung among other Philadelphia heroes.

As Iverson was being honored he was definitely proud, but a little sad to acknowledge his career was really over. According to the usatoday Iverson said, “It's kind of like, it's basically bittersweet. It feels good, you know, but some part of my heart hurts because I realize and understand that it's over…And I know I'll never be in a uniform again."

With his small statue of barely six feet tall his fire and determination led him to 11 All Star games in his 14-year career. According to the bleacherreport Iverson established the seventh-highest career scoring average in NBA history with 26.7.

Iverson was known for his incredible talent and outspoken personality. He is the eighth player in Philadelphia franchise history to have his number retired.
