Philip Seymour Hoffman’s mother has planned two public memorials for this coming spring to celebrate the deceased actor’s life; one in New York City and one in Rochester, NY.

According to The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, Hoffman’s mother, Marilyn O’ Connor, wanted to thank all of his friends and fans for their kind words after her son’s death.

At a film series that honored Hoffman, O’Connor asked friend and retired film critic Jack Garner to read a statement written by her. The statement read: “It has been a devastating loss for us, but I know that you also feel a great sorrow. We miss and cry for the little boy and the man, the brother, the uncle, the husband, the father, the friend, and while we will miss seeing him, we will also miss his talent, his knowledge of his craft, and seeing results of his hard work. He was a gift to me for 46 years. I wanted more."

A report issued by the New York City medical examiner on Feb. 28 revealed that Hoffman died from a toxic mix of drugs including heroin and cocaine, reports USA Today.
