New York medical examiner’s office reveals the death of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was due to an overdose of mixed drugs.
The death has been ruled an accident, and was due to a mixture of heroin, cocaine, amphetamines, and benzodiazepines, reports USA Today. Hoffman was found with a syringe in his arm on the floor of his apartment.
Nearly 50 envelopes branded “Ace of Spades” were found in Hoffman’s apartment, filled with heroin, according to CNN. Used syringes and prescription drugs were also found at the scene. While Hoffman had been sober for 23 years, he admitted to relapsing during interviews last year.
Musician Robert Vineberg (57) was arrested on felony charges for possession of controlled substances in connection to Hoffman’s death, along with Juliana Luchkiw and Max Rosenblum (both 22). Vineberg was arrested during a raid in which about 50 bags of heroine and packaging paraphernalia were found in his apartment, and Hoffman’s phone number was found in his cell phone.
Philip Seymour Hoffman’s last will and testament, he leaves his estate to ex-girlfriend and mother of all three of his children, Mimi O’Donnell. He also states that his eldest son, (his only child at the time the will was written) grow up in New York City for the arts and culture.
