Psych's eight season run on the USA Network came to an end on Wednesday night and the series went out to quiet TV ratings.
The final episode, titled "The Break-Up averaged 1.93 million viewers and 908,000 in the advertiser-important 18-49 demographic, reports Deadline. The numbers aren't spectacular, especially compared against USA's Burn Notice.
The show, which bowed in September, had its largest audience in over a year with 5 million. The numbers also pale in comparison with Duck Dynasty's sagging season finale, which drew 6 million viewers and a 2.5 in the demo.
On Wednesday Psych star James Roday spoke about the finale, reports USA Today saying that "It did everything a finale is supposed to do without sacrificing the spirit of Psych."
Show creator Steve Franks said it was tough to put together a proper episode that would satisfy both fans and those involved in the show. He said that he aimed to bring the show to a "satisfying" close, without turning away from what the show was in its final season.
