Authorities said in a report that former NFL player Darren Sharper admitted to witnesses that sex with two women in New Orleans was non-consensual.
According to a New Orleans police report obtained by USA TODAY, the former safety said that the sex he and acquaintance Erik Nunez had with the women was without their permission.
"Through further investigation by the (detectives) it was learned that Nunez and Sharper admitted to other known witnesses that he and Sharper had… sex with victims #1 and #2 without their knowledge or permission," the report states.
ESPN noted that both Sharper and Nunez are facing charges of aggravated rape in the incident, which Louisiana police said happened at an apartment last September. Nunez was booked on Friday morning in New Orleans.
Sharper turned himself in to police in Los Angeles last week after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He has been in jail ever since.
The 38-year-old was first investigated in January for two separate sexual assaults in California. The New Orleans Police Department said then that they too were investigating him for alleged assaults.
Sharper spent 14 seasons in the NFL and played with the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints. He retired in 2010 and became an analyst for the NFL Network. On Jan. 18, the station suspended him without pay.
