Rob Greenberg has been tapped to step in and replace Pam Fryman as the director of CBS' pilot for its How I Met Your Mother spinoff.

Fryman was set to direct the pilot for How I Met Your Dad, but had to step back because of a family emergency, reports Deadline. She has previously been heavily involved in the early days of the new series as she attended both the castings and the table read, on top of being executive producer.

She directed the pilot for HIMYM, as well as an additional 171 episodes, which is incredible given the show only has 184 episodes. Greenberg has directed the second most episode with seven.

With Greenberg taking over for Fryman, the current schedule for taping is set to continue as planned.

Casting for the series seems finished, with several cast last week, including Anders Holm, Nick D'Agosto and Drew Tarver. They join the previously cast Krysta Rodriguez and series star Greta Gerwig.
