Russell Brand cancels shows as mother fights breast cancer.

WENN reports that Brand has cancelled a few stand-up shows to spend time with his mother, Barbara, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Brand uploaded a video to YouTube, informing fans about his mom's diagnosis.

So far, Brand has cancelled three upcoming shows in England; one at Coventry, another at Plymouth, and one at Derby.

He apologized to his fans via Twitter, letting them know that tickets which were already purchased, will be refunded.

Brand will appear on this Sunday's episode of Oprah's Oprah Prime, previously entitled Oprah's Next Chapter.

With the topic being addiction, Brand will speak about his history with drug use. He also explains that he still struggles with the feeling of wanting to return to drug use, revealing that the urge to use never goes away.

"It's always there — dormant. If something provokes it, you'll be back out there. I know that about myself," Brand said.

Oprah Prime airs on OWN at 9 p.m. Sundays.
