Wide receiver Anquan Boldin announced on his Twitter account that he will stay with the San Francisco 49ers.
According to ESPN, Boldin signed a two-year deal to remain in San Francisco. He was traded to the 49ers from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a sixth-round pick after playing a vital role in the Ravens' Super Bowl run.
Boldin had one of the best seasons of his career by leading the 49ers with 85 catches and 1,179 receiving yards to go with seven touchdowns. He picked up the slack in the 49ers' passing game when fellow receiver Michael Crabtree sat out the first 11 regular season games with a torn Achilles.
The deal is expected to be worth up to $12 million, according to Sports Illustrated.
49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh and General Manager Trent Baalke both said that re-signing Boldin was the team's main priority, and the contract talks were moving in a positive direction.
The 49ers will look to keep both Boldin and Crabtree healthy and return to the Super Bowl in their "quest for six."
