Shailene Woodley is staring in the upcoming Lionsgate film, Divergent but is speaking out about another very popular teenage book franchise turned into a movie series Twilight.

Woodley recently spoke to Teen Vogue
about the Twilight films and novels explaining her thoughts about the Bella, Edward relationship. “‘Twilight,’ I’m sorry, is about a very unhealthy, toxic relationship. She falls in love with this guy and the second he leaves her, her life is over and she’s going to kill herself! What message are we sending to young people? That is not going to help this world evolve," said Woodley.

The young actress is about to receive a huge career boost when her teenage novel turned into a feature film Divergent hits the big screen on March 21 nationwide, Variety added.

Woodley is not the first celebrity to speak out against Twilight, author Stephen King called the young novels, "teenage porn" and Vampire Diaries star Anne Rice expressed her dislike for the novels by saying her creations would “feel sorry for vampires that sparkle in the sun.”
