After having his ex-girlfriend kidnapped, murdered and fed to dogs, a Brazilian soccer star has signed a new deal and been allowed to return to the field of play.
According to the New York Daily News, Bruno Fernandes de Souza, who admitted that he had model Eliza Samudio killed and her flesh fed to Rottweilers, has signed a new 5-year contract with Montes Claros.
Since the goalkeeper is currently jailed for the crime, he will be allowed out of prison to train and play in the games and will be accompanied by a police escort.
The signing has caused outrage and left many to wonder why he is being rewarded after his admission?
Fox Soccer has reported that under a new controversial Brazilian law, a felon may be allowed some freedom after three or four years, depending on prison behavior. The footballer has been jailed since 2010 after being sentenced to 22 years for confessing to the crimes.
Investigators said that the 28-year-old wanted his lover dead so he would not have to pay child support for his love child.
