The Los Angeles Lakers' struggles this season have largely been caused by injuries to some of their most important players, including point guard Steve Nash. However, the Lakers received good news when Nash revealed he plans to return on Friday.

According to NBC Sports, Nash has only played in 10 games for the Lakers this season. His injury caused head coach Mike D'Antoni to say that he expected Nash to sit out the rest of the season.

The Lakers are planning to use Nash as a backup to fellow Kendall Marshall, according to LA Times. Marshall is the only other active point guard on the roster.

Nash has already stated that he has no plans to retire since he does not want to walk away from the $9.7 million that he is owed in the final year of his contract. He has averaged 7.6 points per game with 4.7 assists this season.

Shooting guard Nick Young and power forward Jordan Hill will also return for the Lakers.
