The New York State Workers Compensation Board announced that Tina Fey owes $79,000 over failing to pay workers' compensation insurance.
According to The Smoking Gun, the board lodged the judgment against Fey last week for "Failure to Carry Workers' Comp Ins" for the past two years.
The judgment was first sent to a Manhattan address for her production company Little Stranger, though she has been personally named over the amount.
An aide said that the address is an old one where her accountant used to be, reports the New York Daily News. The address is about six years out of date and no longer in use.
The Saturday Night Live alum's spokeswoman Cara Tripicchio said Fey "has proper and current insurance covering all employees and at no time has workers' compensation payment lapsed." She added that it's simply a "clerical error."
The Smoking Gun notes that there is no opportunity left to file for any further appeals and it isn't exactly clear how the board reached the $79,000 amount. The judgment simply notes that the figure is for "Awards and Penalties."
