With the exciting new announcement that America’s beloved horror mini-series will take place at a spooky carnival during the 1950s, we are dying to know who will be cast in the upcoming season!

It has already been confirmed that AHS alum and Emmy-nominated actress Jessica Lange will return for her final season. According to The Hollywood Reporter Lange is working on perfecting her German accent to portray a Marlene Dietrich type character. From that description we can assume that Lange will once again summon her glamour and mysterious charm – devoted fans of the show know how well she plays that role!

In addition to Lange’s return, the fabulous Sarah Paulson is set to return to the show as well. Paulson starred in the series’ second and third seasons, and had a small role in the first season. We can’t wait to see what she has in store next season – after all, she is the Supreme!

So what about the rest of the cast? While we’re waiting for casting to be confirmed, we’ve compiled our own list of people that we think would be perfect for next season’s creepy carnival theme.

Do you agree? Disagree? Have other people in mind? Let us know!

10. Eric Stonestreet

Remember how creepy Cam – I mean, Eric Stonestreet – was in his guest-starring role in season one? The hilarious actor who plays fun-loving, oversensitive Cam on ABC’s hit comedy Modern Family showcased another side of his talent when he portrayed a man who was afraid of the urban legend of the “Pig Man.” The episode had viewers cringing and laughing at the same time when he repeatedly said “Here Piggy, pig-pig!” in the mirror. It did not end well.

9. Emma Roberts

People fell in love with Emma Roberts in Coven even though we all hated her character Madison so much, but let's be honest - no one could pull off that role with as much attitude and spunk that she had! She brings a definite personality to the characters she plays, and I would love to have another season of her comic relief.

8. Angela Bassett

We all fell in love with the snarky, manipulative character Bassett completely dominated as in Coven. I would love to see her get another chance to prove just how powerful she is.

7. Michelle Pfeiffer

Not just because I would love to see Jessica Lange and Michelle Pfeiffer have a post Thousand Acres reunion, but creator Ryan Murphy even dreams of bringing Michelle onto the show. The Oscar nominated actress would sure make a great addition to the cast.

6. Denis O’hare

Denis is possibly my single favorite actor on the show because he is so good at being creepy – from playing the man with the melted face who set his family on fire in the first season, to playing the attic-lurking doll-obsessed psycho, Denis captures insane perfectly. And isn’t that what AHS is all about?

5. Alexandra Breckenridge

The gorgeous actress and well-known photographer had supporting roles in seasons one and three, and during every scene she was in she completely stole the show. Her classic, timeless look could work perfectly for an innocent character at the carnival in the 1950s.

4. Matthew McConaughey

We’ve all been surprised at how far Matthew McConaughey has come this year from his starring roles in the Oscar-winning Dallas Buyers Club to the widely acclaimed HBO series True Detective. It is without a doubt the man who once swept people off their feet in classic rom-com’s has definite acting abilities and would give any role in AHS justice. Plus, he’d be fun to look at!

[new page = Vera Farmiga]

3. Vera Farmiga

Not just because her baby sis, Taissa Farmiga, has done an excellent job of starring in seasons one and three, but because this lady is one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood. If you haven’t seen Bates Motel you’ll see what I mean about why she would make a great addition to AHS. Only Vera is able to play someone completely wacko and messed up yet still maintain a composure that fools people into liking her.

[new page = Zachary Quinto]

2. Zachary Quinto

Ever since his role in Heroes I have been amazed with Zachary Quinto’s innate acting ability. No matter which psychopath he plays I always find a soft spot for him - after studying his performances I concluded it’s because he does an incredible job of finding a human connection to his characters. Though the actor has stated he does not want to be typecast as a serial killer, I still have hope he may return!

[new page = Evan Peters]

1. Evan Peters

Since I still cannot get the haunting image of AHS alum Evan Peters walking through the school hallway in the first season with his face painted as a terrifying mask, I can’t help but think what a creepy clown or other masked creature he would make at a carnival.

Plus, let’s be honest. Evan is an incredibly talented actor as seen through the diversity of his characters in seasons one and two especially, but in the third season, Coven, his talents were undermined as he did not have as big of a role. Evan definitely deserves a shot in the new season, and has even expressed interest in being a part of the series again.
