Actress and singer Amy Adams has had a successful career in film so far. She has received many accolades for the various roles she has played.

Born in Italy, Adams began her career performing on stage at dinner theaters. She made her film debut in Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). She appeared in minor television roles and a few low budget films. Her breakthrough performance was as Ashley Johnsten in Junebug (2005). She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Adams' career has included numerous box office hits, including The Master, Doubt, and The Fighter. Adams has had five Academy Award nominations, five Golden Globe nominations and one win, six Screen Actors Guild Award nominations and one win, four British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award nominations and nine Broadcast Film Critics Association Award nominations.

Adams is currently engaged to actor/artist Darren Le Gallo, and they have a daughter, Aviana Olea Le Gallo.

Adams is currently nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in American Hustle. She has already won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in February.

The 86th Annual Academy Awards, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, will air Sunday on ABC.

Adams plays Amy, a longtime friend of Theodore, who also goes through struggles with love. Her received three Golden Globe nominations, and is currently nominated for five Academy Awards.

In Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Adams plays Delysia Lafosse, a flamboyant singer and actress who looks onto Miss Pettigrew as a social secretary. Miss Pettigrew, who tries one last time to find a job suitable for her, takes an assignment intended for someone else, and ends up at Delysia's doorstep. What she believed to be a nanny job, turns out to be a life changing and eventful day where she gains a new friendship, and a new love.

The film received positive reviews, and critics praised Adams' portrayal of the eccentric and bubbly Delysia.
