Throughout their relationship, it has appeared Sheldon never initiated a kiss with Amy and this scene leads to a shocking moment. During their Valentine’s Day trip to the bed and breakfast, Amy has had to deal with Sheldon ignoring her completely in favor of doing the things he wants to do. It all comes to a head when Sheldon has invited the conductor to play bagpipes for him. Amy tells Sheldon she wanted romance, and Sheldon sarcastically responds back, talking about the typical romantic gestures, such as drinking wine and staring into each other’s eyes. When he brings up kissing, he kisses her, only to stop being sarcastic and actually fall into the moment.
