As we commemorate St. Patrick's death on March 17, we remember the Christianity St. Patrick spread to fourth-century Ireland, and we celebrate the fun of Irish culture.

Born in Roman-Britain, St. Patrick was captured by Irish barbarians before escaping to Britain, but when he returned to Ireland, he purposed to share Christianity to the Irish. We remember him not only for his feats, but also by his symbol of the shamrock, which he used to teach the Trinity to the Irish.

St. Patrick's Day honors that man, and many in America today celebrate the holiday with shamrocks, pots of gold, beer and best of all, Irish-themed movies.

Although these selections do not reference St. Patrick, they help keep you in an Irish mood. As you watch films such as The Secret of Roan Inish or The Wind that Shakes the Barley, you'll be drawn to the myths of selkies or the history of the Irish Independence War. Some of these films will be just for fun, such as the romantic comedies of The Matchmaker or Leap Year, while others will have a more serious tone such as Tom Cruise's Far and Away.

Never a dull moment, you'll be jolly and merry with these Irish classics. Selected from TheCelebrityCafe.com, here are the top 10 best Irish films to watch on St. Patrick's Day.
