Now that award season is (finally) over, the great films have been recognized. From Dallas Buyer’s Club to 12 Years a Slave, the best films of the year have been awarded for their excellent material. What about those worst films?
It’s hard to make a movie. Finding producers, actors and scripts that are excellent is a tough job. However, when a film is released into theaters, those in Hollywood should have already tested to see if the critics or audience will like the script or actors. Some of the films winning "Worst" awards shouldn’t have even made it into theaters, let alone have some of the stars attached to them.
At the Academy Awards last night, there were an elite few that were recognized. The best of the best were nominated and given awards. Seeing that, I realized that the worst of the worst need some recognition as well. It must take a lot of hard work to be so terrible.
To decide who received a worst award, I tried to give it as much range as possible. No matter how bad a movie was, I couldn’t just give it all of the awards. That wouldn’t be fun.
Of the 10 categories, nine movies are represented. These movies are the worst of the worst. Some are so bad that I nearly turned them off in the middle. They were just bad movies. Of the movies that won, that doesn’t mean that the actors within are the worst. Maybe they were off of their game.
Here are the Worst Movie Awards.
