Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is going to be among the crowd of Hollywood elite tonight, all thanks to Jimmy Kimmel, who picked him up at LAX. Ford, who has been a punchline for late night comics for nearly a year now, will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday.
Ford revealed to the Toronto Sun on Saturday that he will be going to Hollywood’s biggest night. “It’s going to be fun,” he said. “I am really looking forward to it.” The mayor tweeted later that he arrived safely at LAX.
Kimmel was at the airport to pick up Ford, wearing a porter’s cap and carrying a sign that said “Ford.” He waited for Ford by the baggage claim and had the cameras rolling to capture the moment.
According to Zap2It, Kimmel will have Ford on JKL on Monday. Still, Canada’s CTV did have a camera crew at LAX to film the moment.
Like the other late night comics, Kimmel has constantly mocked Ford, who has admitted to using cocaine and alcohol. Ford still plans on running for re-election and is clearly enjoying his time in the spotlight, even if everyone is laughing at him.
