Millions of little girls dream of being a princess, and Fox tapped into that market with I Wanna Marry “Harry” , a reality dating show where women compete for the love of a (fake) Prince Harry.
When Kate Middleton married Prince William, tons of women across the globe proclaimed “Keep Calm and Marry Harry”, joining Facebook pages dedicated to the cause of marrying Prince William’s young handsome brother, Prince Harry. Fox, spying an excellent reality show opportunity, recruited 12 American women to win the affections of what they thought was Prince Harry, but was really just lookalike Matthew Hicks, who has no claim to the royal throne. The show is similar to Fox’s 2003 smash hit Joe Millionaire , where a group of women competed for the love of who they thought was a handsome millionaire. In reality, he was just an “Average Joe”. Deadline reports that the single ladies were flown to Englefield House in Berkshire for the filming of the show, which was kept top-secret until now. Show producers are hoping for a summer release date.
Unfortunately for the ladies, the real Prince Harry, 29, is dedicated to his longtime girlfriend Cressida Bonas. A source connected to US Magazine says the young royal will be proposing very soon.
