I’m in southern California enjoying the sites, sun, sand, and feeling a tad bit guilty that a majority of my family is suffering on the east coast. It is January 11th and the temperature is a not so chilly 68 degrees outside the Hotel del Coronado. We are not hating this.

I’ve been a few places, around the US and around the world. I love to travel, and I can tell you that Coronado is very special. It’s not far from me, yet I feel like I’ve really gone somewhere. It’s kind of like a Mayberry meets southern CA. Depending on the water level, it could be a peninsula or an island. That could explain the laid back slow feel I get while walking around here. Then, the city of San Diego on the other side of the bridge. I have been over the bridge to Coronado many times and every time I fall more in love with the place.

After the food “high” from 1500 Ocean I noticed there was live music in the Babcock & Story Bar at the Hotel de Coronado. The bar was crowded. Saturday night in Coronado and everyone seemed in good spirits. So, of course I made our way over there. Enjoying music and cocktails, it’s a perfect way to end a fantastic day.
