Zoey is in the dumps after her breakup with Joel in the previous episode. She’s so upset that she doesn’t even try to dress up when she walks about town. In her desperation, Zoey goes and sees the town gypsy for advice. As a result, Zoey becomes obsessed with the belief that she is cursed because she broke up George and Lemon (all the way back in Season 1). Deciding to play cupid, Zoey tries to enlist the help of Lavon (since it was his fault as well, due to his affair with Lemon) to help her get the two back together. Lavon wants no part in Zoey’s crazy plans, and even warns her not to interfere with other’s relationships. Not heeding his advice, Zoey cooks up a plan, especially after she finds out from George (in confidence) that Lemon and he had slept together and that he now cannot look at Lemon without thinking of their steamy night. Lemon and George end up getting fixed to meet up for dinner by Zoey, but the night ended in complete chaos. When Lemon and George find out it was Zoey’s doing, they can’t even be mad at her because she’s just been in a bad state of mind. Her breakup with Joel has affected her tremendously and everyone can tell. Zoey admits that there is no one else to blame but herself because she could have chosen to move to LA or London, but she had chose herself over Joel.

Meanwhile the other citizens of Bluebell have their own things to worry about. Wade gets the honor of meeting Vivian’s ex, Charles. The two does not get along right from the start because Wade had caused Harley to get a black eye due to some bad advice giving on his part. Charles automatically labels Wade as a loser in his books and simply does not approve of Vivian dating Wade. The two are seen hating one another for most of the episode, until they are forced to be on the same team at the Wilke’s barbeque. The two are scouting the woods together, when suddenly they get trap in a net. Hanging there with nowhere else to go, the two are forced to talk to one another. Charles dislikes Wade so much because he feels threatened by him. The fact that Wade is just trying to get Harley to like him and that Harley chose to get advice from Wade instead of Charles makes Charles feel that he’s being replaced.

Last but not least, the knight that bought Annabelle a drink during the Renaissance faire is revealed to be the new patient, David, who has been appearing at the practice most recently. He’s been meaning to ask Annabelle out, but chickens out every time when he comes into the practice. A new love interest for AB at this juncture is probably not the best timing, and even AB knows it. This is why she does not respond to David’s proclamation of his love for her right away and runs off home without saying a word to him. It’s not until Brick comes knocking at her door the next day does AB consider going out with David. At the end of the episode, it’s revealed that he’s the nephew of the mayor in Fillmore, which is definitely going to prove interesting in future episodes.

Hart of Dixie airs Fridays at 9pm on the CW.
