The Simpsons will be airing on FXX and the network is prepared to launch the show off with a major marathon. FXX will be running a 12-day marathon of the show. This will include the ability to watch 522 episodes in a row.
This will set a record for the longest marathon to ever air on TV. Jon Landgraf, chief executive of FX Networks, made the announcement about the marathon at a presentation which was held in New York on Wednesday, Variety reported.
“It will be the longest continuous marathon in the history of television,” said Landgraf.
Along with this marathon the network is also looking to launch a mobile application, this was announced back in February, Deadline first reported, but now more details have emerged.
This application will be separate from FX’s “FXNow” mobile-viewing application. This new application is rumored to be titled “Simpsons World” and will be debuting within the next few weeks.
This syndication deal for FXX was reached at a price tag $750 million over the life of the deal.
