Actor Richard Gere has quietly been dating Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi.
Page Six reports how recently Gere and Lakshmi started dating. According to a source, "They have been quietly spending some time together. It is all very new and recent, and happened while he has been filming in New York." It was revealed last September that Gere was divorcing his wife Carey Lowell after 11 years of marriage. Gere and Lowell have one child together, a son name Homer. Gere was previously married to model Cindy Crawford. Laskshmi was previously married for three years to author Salman Rushdie and has a three-year-old daughter Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell with venture capitalist Adam Dell.
E Online reported that back in 2012 Laskshmi was involved in a nasty custody battle with Dell over their daughter Krishna, but it was eventually settled. A source said, "They settled privately out of court and came to an agreement." At that time, Dell earned more visitation and custody rights and was legally recognized as Krishna's father.
