ABC has decided that summer limited series The Astronaut Wives Club needed more work and has pushed the series back to midseason.
Production set to start at the end of July has been delayed until likely the fall and the 10-episode series will hit the small screen in time for the 2014-15 midseason, according to Deadline, who first reported the delay.
The series, based upon Stephanie Savage's book of the same name, was delayed so that some creative changes could be made.
Wives Club was a book that followed the lives of women who were married to those who went into space for the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions. ABC originally planned the series to only be about the Mercury mission, but has since decided to include Gemini and Apollo as well.
The series will still revolve around the seven Mercury wives, but as Wives Club progresses, the other wives will be included.
The most recent cast addition was Dexter alum Desmond Harrington. He will play one of the Mercury 7 astronauts, Alan Shepard.
The primary cast consists of JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Odette Annable, Erin Cummings, Zoe Boyle and Azure Parsons. The first episode will directed by Nick Cassavetes.
