Bobcats' Josh McRoberts fined for LeBron James hit

The NBA announced on Thursday that the league was fining the Charlotte Bobcats' forward Josh McRoberts for his hit on LeBron James.

McRoberts was fined $20,000 for making unnecessary and excessive contact with James during Wednesday's game, reports The Associated Press. The Bobcats player struck the Miami Heat forward in the neck with his right elbow with 50 seconds left in the game as James was driving to the basket.

James appeared to take the shot around the chin area and grabbed his throat and took a bit to gather himself. In the game, McRoberts was not assessed a flagrant foul. He said the hit wasn't an intentional one. "It looked a lot worse than what it was," he said.

James didn't seem to upset after the game about the hit, simply saying, "Most important thing is we won the game."

According to USA Today, the Heat eventually won the game 101-97, taking both Game 1 and 2 at home. In the second game, James' stat line was impressive, with 32 points, eight assists, six rebounds and four steals.
