American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis discussed the sexual abuse scandal involving X-Men director Bryan Singer. The writer even claims that he was once invited to one of the alleged wild parties Singer hosted.
Ellis explained that he had dated a man in his late-20s who claimed he participated in Singer’s party scene, reports TheWrap. In December 2007, he says other gay men invited him to a party in Encino at the M&C Estate, the same place Egan claims hosted parties where he was abused by Singer.
Entertainment Weekly notes that Ellis called the scandal a “murky, tricky thing” and even raised suspicions about the timing, since Egan went public with the lawsuit just before X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to hit theaters.
Ellis discussed the scandal with True Blood creator Alan Ball. You can listen to the podcast below.
Singer and three Hollywood executives Egan has also accused of abuse have all denied the allegations.
