The Brooklyn Nets entered the NBA playoffs as a sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, but they did not let their seed number affect their play as they defeated the Toronto Raptors 94-87.

The Nets had lost four of their final five games in the regular season, according to USA Today.

Paul Pierce came through in the clutch for the Nets as he scored nine points in the final three minutes. The Nets held a one-point lead over the Raptors with five minutes remaining before they pulled away. The Nets then made key free throws to seal the win, including four from Joe Johnson.

Pierce finished with 15 points for the Nets. Johnson and Deron Williams each led the Nets in scoring with 24 points, according to ESPN. Johnson added eight rebounds to his performance.

Jonas Valanciunas led the Raptors with 17 points and 18 rebounds, and Kyle Lowry scored 22 points with seven rebounds and eight assists.
