Actor Shemar Moore, model Carmen Electra, and actress Jessica Lange are celebrating their birthdays today.
Shemar Moore, 44
Model and actor Shemar Moore turns 44 today. Moore attended Santa Clara University, and modeled to pay his bills. Moore played Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless for eight years, leaving in September 2005. He hosted Soul Train from 2000 until 2003.
Moore played Terry White in the 2001 film, The Brothers, alongside Morris Chestnut, D.L. Hughley, and Bill Bellamy. He played Detective Jesse Reese on the television series Birds of Prey in 2002. Moore had a supporting role in the Tyler Perry film Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
Moore currently plays Derek Morgan on the CBS crime series Criminal Minds.
Carmen Electra, 42
Model, actress, television personality, singer, and dancer Carmen Electra turns 42 today. Real name Tara Leigh Patrick, she started out as a dancer at Kings Island amusement park in Mason, Ohio in 1990. She moved to California in 1991 and had a short-lived singing career under Prince's record label, and started using her stage name, Carmen Electra. In 1995, Electra started working on television, and in May 1996, she appeared in Playboy magazine.
In 1997, Electra was cast as a regular on Baywatch. She appeared in several movies including Good Burger, Scary Movie, Meet the Spartans, Starsky & Hutch, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, and Scary Movie 4.
Electra appeared as a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance in 2011, and a guest judge on Britain's Got Talent in 2012.
Jessica Lange, 65
Film, television, and theater actress Jessica Lange turns 65 today. Lange made her career debut in King Kong (1976). She won a Golden Globe for New Star of the Year. Lange was nominated for and Academy Award for her work in Frances, and won the Academy Award for her work in Tootsie that same year.
Lange produced and starred in Country (1984). She made her television debut as Maggie the Cat on CBS's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Lange has appeared in over 30 films including Blue Sky, A Thousand Acres, Big Fish Bonneville, and The Vow. She has also appeared in the television films O Pioneers!, Normal, and Grey Gardens. Throughout her career, Lange has won two Academy Awards, two Emmys, five Golden Globes, a SAG awards, and three Dorian Awards.
Lange appeared in all three seasons of FX's American Horror Story, and will continue to star in the upcoming fourth season.
