Cleveland Browns center Alex Mack was recently signed to a five-year contract worth $42 million by the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the Browns had the option to match the Jaguars' offer and keep him in town. The Browns decided to do that, so he will be in Cleveland for at least two more years.

According to The Washington Post, Mack is guaranteed $26 million in the deal. He can void his contract after two years, but the Browns cannot trade or tag him.

Mack has played five seasons with the Browns, and he has never missed a game since being drafted by them with the 21st overall pick, according to USA Today. He has also been named to two Pro Bowls since making his mark as an elite NFL center.

The Browns had signed Mack to a transition tag worth $10.08 million before he signed the offer sheet, so they took a risk in paying him as he flirted with leaving Cleveland.
