Number-one seeded, Florida, is no longer a contender in the NCAA tournament after losing to Connecticut in the final four Saturday. The University of Connecticut defeated Florida 63-53 to secure their spot in the championships.

Connecticut ended Florida’s 30-game winning streak that began after Dec. 2 when Connecticut previously beat the Gators 65-64 reported the L.A. Times.

After having a rough start, Connecticut took their first lead of 21-20 with 3:18 left in the half. The Huskies led 25-22 at halftime.

Florida had formerly won all their NCAA games by 10 points or more however were not able to fight off Connecticut’s impressive offense that shot 55.8% from the field. Despite averaging 46.1% from the field, Florida shot just 38.8% and made only 1 for 10 from the three-point range.

As previously reported Florida defeated the No. 11 seeded Dayton to reach the final four 62-52.

The Huskies will play the winner of Wisconsin-Kentucky game for the finals on Monday night.
