The premiere of Damon Lindelof's series The Leftovers at HBO has been pushed back two weeks as production remains on hiatus.
The 10-episode series was set to debut on Sunday, June 15, just a week ahead of when the final season of True Blood was set to kick off.
Now the drama series will premiere on June 29, Deadline reports. The original premiere date was set to try and take advantage of the season finale of Game of Thrones.
The series has finished work on the first six episodes, but went on "a short hiatus to prep our final episodes," HBO said. But for whatever reason, the show hasn't returned to production just yet. HBO announced on Friday that "Our production schedule shifted and subsequently that necessitated a change in our debut date."
The series, which stars Justin Theroux, was co-written by Lindelof and Tom Perrotta. The Leftovers is an adaptation of Perrotta's book about life after the Rapture, when 2 percent of the planet's population suddenly disappears.
