Demi Lovato, who has shared her struggles in the past, took to Twitter on Tuesday, April 15, to reply to an individual who called her a “fatty.”
In 2011, Lovato opened up about her struggles with an eating disorder that she went out and sought treatment for. She claimed then that seeking treatment was the best decision she’s ever made and it may have saved her life.
According to E! News, the 21-year-old singer spoke out on Tuesday after an individual called her a “fatty” on Twitter.
Lovato then, instead of bashing and angrily snapping at the individual who was sending her negativity on Twitter, she responded to the tweet, according to E! News, with the positive message of, “you are beautiful.”
Lovato also took to Twitter to encourage that all of her friends and Twitter friends address hate, like she received, with positivity instead of more negativity.
Dear haters, you don't have to like me cause I love you. Everyone's equal, everyone has a soul and everyone deserves to be loved

Dear Lovatics, for every hater tweet - don't respond with hate but love and positivity.. Try love instead of combat
