Designer Diane von Furstenberg is honoring Gloria Steinem on Friday evening in a ceremony at the United Nations.

Steinem, who turned 80 last week, will be receiving the Lifetime Leadership Award at the annual DVF Awards. According to the Associated Press, the DVF Awards were created in 2010 by von Furstenberg and The Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation to recognize and support "women who are using their resources, commitment and visibility to transform the lives of other women."

Presenters at the event will include Meryl Streep and Sarah Jessica Parker. Recording artist Alicia Keys will receive the Inspiration Award. The DVF award winners this year also receive $50,000.

Von Furstenberg is also making a jump to the small screen. It was announced recently that she will have her own reality show like designers Rachel Zoe and Betsey Johnson. According to the Daily Mail, von Furstenberg’s new show will give participants the chance to work with the renowned designer as her Global Brand Ambassador. The working title for the new series is DVF.
