Disney Channel star, Debby Ryan, is going to be the first Disney girl to have her character get married.
According to E! News, Disney executives have decided to dedicate four episodes of Jessie to an engagement between 22-year-old Jessie Prescott and her 25-year-old boyfriend, Brooks (Pierson Fode).
"Jessie is an adult, and we felt we could tackle this in a way that still feels appropriate for our audience," Adam Bonnett, Disney Channel executive vice president of original programming, said.
The romance will be kept G-rated and feature innocent dates.
“Our audience isn't dealing with somebody proposing to them, but they are dealing with choices they have to make in their life, and thinking things through, following their heart and wanting to make the right choice,” he added, according to Yahoo!.
Debbie Ryan later tweeted her support for the Disney decision on Wednesday:
Okay http://t.co/VynA3Ehnfl I've told enough secrets for now. Excited to share this part of my girl's life with you; #JESSIESgettingmarried

The network has previously tried to step away from its traditional ways when they featured two lesbian moms on an episode of Good Luck Charlie.
