John Mulaney brought a clip from his upcoming sitcom when he visited his old writing partner Seth Meyers on Late Night.
The clip features Mulaney, playing himself, meeting his new boss Lou Cannon, a game show host and former stand-up played by Martin Short. Short checks with his assistant that he has an appointment with a "Jay Mulalay" before questioning if Mulaney is responsible for any Internet comments.
The show was picked up by Fox last year after being passed on by NBC, where Mulaney worked for years on Saturday Night Live under head writer Seth Meyers. During the Late Night interview Mulaney confessed that his writing partnership with Meyers was merely an attempt to get his work on the show.
They also discussed their Emmy winning collaboration with Justin Timberlake and Mulaney's most famous creation, the character Sefon, portrayed by Bill Hader. SNL head honcho Lorne Michaels will be an executive producer on Mulaney. Nasim Pedrad will also appear on the show, but it will not prevent from continuing her work on SNL.
