Former Louisiana State University linebacker Tahj Jones was shot by another former LSU football player, and he is now seriously injured and in critical condition.

Jones was shot at an apartment by Brandon Winey, a former offensive tackle for LSU, according to Sports Illustrated. Winey pulled out his gun and shot Jones in the abdomen Friday night at the apartment. This shooting occurred two days after LSU's Pro Day.

Jones was visiting a female friend that night. When Winey arrived, a fight ensued before he pulled out a handgun. After shooting Jones, Winey tried to escape in his vehicle, but he was caught by the police. He was later arrested on second-degree attempted murder charges. He was jailed on Saturday on $1 million bond.

Winey was taken in the sixth round of the 2001 NFL Draft, and he played in three NFL games, according to CBS Sports.

Jones played in eight games for the Tigers in 2013, making 10 tackles.
