Fox is going to try out a new game show called Boom!, which is based on an Israeli hit that has drawn the best debut for a game show ever there.

The show will have squads of four players who have to defuse eight (fake) bombs in a time limit, notes TheWrap. Players defuse the bombs by cutting wires that correspond to the answers for a multiple-choice question. If you get the right answer, you move on to the next bomb and you keep adding to your money total.

Simon Andreae, executive vice president, Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, called the show “a perfect blend of family entertainment and Fox attitude.” He later added, “It's as if Jack Bauer made brain love with Jeff Foxworthy.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, this is the second sale for Keshet DCP, a joint-venture between Dick Clark Productions’ DC Media and Keshet in Israel. The company also sold Rising Star to ABC.

Boom! debuted on Channel 2 in Israel just last week and scored a 41.2 percent share and 26.7 household rating, making it the most-watched game show debut in Israeli history. However, shows like these have mixed records on the big four U.S. networks recently. NBC tested Million Second Quiz with Ryan Seacrest last fall, but that flopped, despite heavy promotion.
