Game of Thrones director Alex Graves promises that the season four finale will be “the episode to end all episodes.”

Season four of HBO’s hit medieval fantasy Game of Thrones may just be getting started, but director Alex Graves is sure that fans will be shocked at the season finale that show writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have crafted. Graves told Deadline that the end of season four will be a huge turning point, as it marks the middle of the story. “It’s the first true finale they’ve ever done,” he says of the writers, “and it’s really the episode to end all episodes. It’s the largest episode they’ve ever made.” Fans can expect to see a huge confrontation between Tywin Lannister and his son, Tyrion, presumably stemming from the action in the Purple Wedding .

Game of Thrones has already been renewed for the next two seasons, as TheCelebrityCafe.com reported. Fans of both the book series and the show have raised concerns that the show will run out of source material before the next installment in the series The Winds of Winter is released. Alex Graves doesn’t want fans to worry about it: “First of all the show is still in the books and it won’t be out of the books here for another season and hopefully by then the first of the last book will be done. But I can only say that David and Dan and George have it all very well in hand.”
