If you are as excited as I am for the season premiere of Game of Thrones this Sunday night, you will be even more excited about what HBO is doing this weekend. This Friday at 9 a.m., HBO2 will begin a marathon showing the first three seasons in chronological order as we prepare for the season four premiere Sunday at 9 p.m.

A Game of Thrones marathon will have many people spending most of their weekend catching up on the show or re-watching their favorite episodes from the series. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that throughout this weekend marathon, HBO has added several interactive features that fans can explore while watching the show. Some of the features are character guides, behind-the-scenes videos and interactive maps of the Seven Kingdoms.

The highly popular and critically successful show has stemmed from author George R.R. Martin’s book series A Song of Fire and Ice. The upcoming season is set to focus on the events that take place in the latter part of A Storm of Swords, the series’ third novel.

Screen Rant talks about how this weekend long marathon will be a great way for fans of the show to spend countless hours watching their favorite show and reliving moments that made them happy as well as moments that shocked and upset them. Game of Thrones has become the most pirated show in history, but that has not stopped the show from being one of HBO’s most successful series of all time.

Game of Thrones returns this Sunday night, April 6th at 9:00 p.m.
