Despite competition from the MTV Music Awards and Mad Men, HBO did fairly well with its three programs on Sunday night, with all remaining fairly close to their premiere numbers from last week.

GoT' fourth season's started off the season strong with 6.6 million viewers and the second episode was amazingly not that far behind, TheWrap reports. The episode drew 6.3 million viewers, which is a 48 percent increase upon the third season's second episode.

The combined number of both Sunday night telecasts of the hit fantasy drama series is also barely below the premiere, with 8 million. HBO has to be happy about those steady numbers after the premium cable network unsurprisingly renewed the show for at least another two seasons.

According to Deadline, freshman half-hour comedy Silicon Valley, which comes from Mike Judge, was also fairly consistent in its second episode. The show averaged 1.7 million viewers, only a small drip from its 2 million viewer premiere.

The Julia Louis-Dreyfus' comedy series Veep followed on the heels of the other two HBO programs and was only a touch down from the previous week with 860,000 viewers.
