Actress Hayden Panettiere spoke up this week about the recently announced NBC miniseries Heroes: Reborn, for which she was not asked to take part in.

According to Contact Music, Panettiere told Cosmopolitan that she heard about the reboot from a text message sent to her by her cousin, and admitted "It was a shock to me." The 24 year old star played on the original series from 2006 to 2010 as cheerleader and ultimate healer Claire Bennet. While she remains unaware of how her character fits into the new plot, she expressed her uneasiness over watching the transition.

She tells Cosmo, “It's a little bit of an interesting feeling because you go, 'That was our show, our home, our family,' something that we had a major part in creating."
US Magazine notes that Panttierre continues to be successful on television, continuing her success as pop country sensation Juliette Barnes on the Emmy nominated drama Nashville for ABC. Besides stardom, Panttiere is planning her wedding with world heavy weight champion Wladimir Klitschko. As for the upcoming Heroes, Panttiere remarks, “I wish them success in it, for sure.''

Heroes: Reborn is set to air on NBC sometime next year.
