On Easter Sunday, HBO gave a sneak peek at the seventh and final season of True Blood, which seemed to replace Bon Temps with an eerie, destructed and abandoned town.

"There was an attack at the church tonight," Sookie says in the short clip.

The preview aired during “Game of Thrones” on Sunday night, which only lasted a short 36 seconds--an utter tease. Sookie’s morose and intense dialogue tells viewers that the town is filled with “sick vampires” who are causing mass destruction, lunacy in the form of crazy religious figures, the government that failed their citizens and the people who are turning on one another.

It was decided in September that this season would be the last. Buckner then made a promise to True Blood fanatics by saying, "As we take a final walk through Bon Temps together, we will do our very best to bring Sookie’s story to a close with heart, imagination and, of course, fun," reports Rolling Stone.

HBO released a short clip earlier in the month, which showed a graveyard filled with members of the show. According to CBS News, the final season will premier on Sunday June 22nd at 9 p.m.—Riley Smith of 90210,and Nathan Parsons included.
