HBO is gearing up for Game of Thrones’ return on Sunday, but that’s not all. The network has just announced the premiere dates of a new series called The Leftovers and True Blood’s final season.
The Leftovers will premiere on Sunday, June 15 at 10 p.m., the network said today.
HBO ordered a pilot for the project back in February 2013 and it is Damon Lindelof’s first TV series since Lost. It is based on Tom Perrotta’s 2011 novel and will star Justin Theroux and Liv Tyler. The story centers on a small town coming to grips with the fact that a significant portion of the human population has been wiped out, but they survived.
True Blood will kick off its seventh and final season on Sunday, June 22 at 9 p.m. Fans have been gearing up for the final season since it was announced that this year would be its last in September. The Louisiana-set vampire drama is based on Charlaine Harris’ novels and was created by Alan Ball.
