Heather Graham isn’t the first actress and won’t be the last to step forward and call Hollywood “sexist” as an industry. The Californication actress shared her thoughts in a new interview with Esquire.
Graham, who’s been in the industry for over two decades, called Hollywood “totally sexist.”
“If you look at all the movies being made these days, eighty percent of them are about men,” she told Esquire after acknowledging she’s been getting a lot of roles as the “sexy mother.”
She continued, “It's a sexist world and a sexist industry. But I've been very lucky as an actress, to work as much as I have and as consistently as I have.”
Graham, 44, revealed she hopes to direct a film based off of a script she wrote herself, which is about a woman who enjoys having sex.
She asked when the last time there was a movie that represented women who favor “great orgasms than finding a husband? I would say almost never."
E! Online reports she said they’re currently casting the film and she hopes to get the ball rolling on filming this summer.
