The British Academy of Film & Television Arts announced the 2014 nominees for its TV awards. Top of the Lake, which stars Elisabeth Moss and aired on Sundance in the U.S., was nominated for Drama Series. Its competition includes Broadchurch (which is getting a U.S. remake), The Village and My Mad Fat Diary.

The top Situation Comedy nominees are Him & Her: The Wedding, The IT Crowd, Toast of London and Count Arthur Strong.

All three of the main stars of The IT Crowd - Chris O’Dowd, Richard Ayoade and Katherine Parkinson - earned Comedy acting nods.

The nominees in the Best Actor - Drama category are Dominic West (Burton and Taylor); Luke Newberry (In The Flesh); Sean Harris (Southcliffe); and Jamie Dornan (The Fall).
