Former Tonight Show host Jay Leno has broken his silence to give his opinion on David Letterman's retirement plans.
Leno was asked by Extra to give his thoughts about Letterman's retirement, and he jokingly replies,"Oh well you know, he and I gonna do the Sunshine Boys on Broadway so we’re very excited about that.” Leno, also added that he doesn't feel that their is another person who is capable of replacing Letterman.
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Letterman and Leno have been rivals with each other since 1992, due to Leno taking over for Johnny Carson as host of the Tonight Show on NBC. After, being passed over for Leno, Letterman went to CBS to host the Late Show with David Letterman. However, four years ago Letterman and Leno starred alongside Oprah Winfrey in a Superbowl commercial. However, within the last year both Letterman and Leno have insisted that the feud between them is over and they had made up. Letterman, announced last Thursday on his show that he would be retiring in 2015.
