Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg are engaged, they announced ABC’s The View on Wednesday.
McCarthy got teary-eyed when making the big announcement and her now-fiance, Wahlberg, also teared up in the audience.
"I just got engaged! It's a yellow sapphire," she said of her ring, E! Online reports.
McCarthy described how Wahlberg proposed, enlisting her 11-year-old son Evan to help him with it. “I feel like the luckiest girl in the world,” said McCarthy.
"I was sitting with Donnie and he went into the other room and out came Evan with a card that said 'Will.' And he ran away and came back with a card that said 'You,' and I knew what was happening and I just started crying.
And then he came out with a card that said 'Marry,' but it was spelled 'Mary,' and the last time Donnie came out with Evan and Evan's shirt said 'Me?' and he was holding the ring. He asked, 'Will you marry me?' I of course said yes. And in that moment, Evan yelled, 'I have another dad! I have another dad.' And it was just—it made all of us cry," she said.
McCarthy hinted at a big announcement on Twitter ahead of The View, writing, “Between us... I would watch #theview today. Just Sayn.”
This marks the second marriage for both McCarthy and Wahlberg, who both have children from their first marriages.
Wahlberg has two kids with his ex-wife, Kim Fey, who he was married to for nine years up until 2008. McCarthy was married to Evan’s dad, John Mallory Asher, for six years up until 2005.
The couple went public with their relationship in July 2013 and they revealed they’re eyeing an August wedding.
