John Pinette, a stand-up comedian, has died at the age of 50 of natural causes at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday.

Allegheny County Medical Examiner said that no autopsy was done, and that Pinette’s own physician signed off on the cause of death.
Pinette was born in Boston in 1964, and has starred in movies such as Junior, The Last Godfather and has made appearances on Seinfeld and High Tide.

According to HollyWood Reporter, the comedian’s agent, Larry Schapiro, confirmed that Pinette had passed away.

On Sunday, several tweets went out in tribute to Pinette. Lewis Black, Lizz Winstead, and Bob Saget were among the mourners.

Late last year, Pinette checked himself into rehab for addiction to pain medication.

Several reports about the comedian’s death have surfaced. The Hollywood Reporter has reported that the cause of death was a pulmonary embolism, and another website has reported that the medical examiner said that the cause of death was liver and heart disease, according to the BBC.
