Johnny Depp is normally very private about his personal life, but he opened up about his fiancé, Amber Heard, during a chat with Savannah Guthrie on the Today Show which airs Friday morning.
He not only confirmed their engagement, but told Guthrie that she was a great match for him.
"She's a wonderful girl. She's sharp as a tack. A southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me,” he said, Today.com reports.
The couple met in 2011 while filming The Rum Diary, and when Depp, 50, ended his 14-year relationship with Vanessa Paradis, he started dating the 27-year-old actress. They will be appearing onscreen together again later this year in London Fields.
Depp has been wearing a woman’s diamond engagement ring on his finger as he promotes Transcendence, and he recently said about his engagement, “The fact that I'm wearing a chick's ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle."
