Orange is the New Black star, Laura Prepon, is addressing rumors that she’s been secretly dating fellow Scientologist Tom Cruise. She has denied the rumors, even joking about them in a new interview.
Prepon told She Knows that the rumors are “unbelievable to me.”
She said she’s used to answering questions about her religion and she knows it’s a “mystery” to people, causing them to “make things up.”
“The thing that sucks is that there's so much false data because people are in mystery as to what Scientology is, so they just kind of make up stuff," she said. "It's kind of unfortunate because then I have to be like, 'No, that's actually not what's happening.'"
Prepon also wanted to make it clear she’s a “huge supporter of the LGBT community,” as it’s a common misconception that Scientologists have anti-gay beliefs.
“It's just so funny that, when people don't know, they just make stuff up, [like], apparently I'm dating Tom Cruise right now. And apparently he doesn't want me doing the show because I portray a lesbian and I'm a Scientologist. This is false; where are they even getting this stuff? It's unbelievable to me,” she said.
This isn’t the first time rumors started to swirl about Prepon and Cruise dating. They first surfaced back in November.
